  • Piping

    Registration

    10.00am Competitors must register at the Piping Hut on the Park by 10.30

    Draw for sequence of play by Steward at 10am. Three Piobaireachds to be submitted to Judge by Senior Competitors. Where appropriate Judges may combine classes. 

  • Mini Highland Games

    10am at Couper Park

    Open to all Primary school age children Come and have a go at throwing the haggis, running races and Tug of War

  • Highland Dancing

    This is a competition for PREMIER dancers only.

    10.30am Dancers to register at the Dancing Stage for the CONFINED* competition

    11.00am CONFINED COMPETITION

    *Dancers who currently live in Caithness, Sutherland or Ross-Shire can participate in the Confined competition.

    All athletes competing in OPEN events must be registered with RSGA. Day registration can be made directly to stewards.

  • Children's Races

    Races commence at 3pm approx

    Registration not required

    Open to all children from 5 to 12 years old. Separate races for boys/girls.

    Children to assemble at marquee end of the park. Look and listen for steward announcements.

  • Charity Tug of War

    Register at Secretaries Hut

    Competition starts at 4pm approx

    Teams of 8 can nominate which charity to pull for.

    Prize money is £200 for 1st prize and £100 for 2nd prize.

    Separate events for male and female teams.

    OPEN HEAVY EVENT COMPETITORS ARE EXCLUDED FROM COMPETING IN THE TUG OF WAR

  • NOTICE FOR COMPETITORS

    The decision of the judges appointed by the Committee shall be final.

    Protests must be handed to the Secretary in writing within 15 minutes of the event, with deposit of £20 which may be forfeited should the Committee consider the protest to be unwarranted.

    All competitors must be dressed in Highland Costume for Piping, Dancing and Heavy Events.

    In all competitions there must be more competitors than prizes, otherwise prize money will be withheld.

    Entries on the day of the Games will be received only at the Secretary's tent or to appropriate Dancing or Piping Stewards.

    All competitors must pay for admission to the field.

    All competitors must be ready on the field when called. Any competitor misconducting him/herself will not be allowed to compete.

    The prize money will be paid to each Competitor as soon as the result of each event is verified.

    No persons will be allowed in the ring except competitors engaged, officials and authorised members of the press.

    Trophy winners will hold the award for one year only. Trophies to be returned by 1st July the following year, for engraving.

    The Committee reserve the right to make any alteration in the Games Programme.

    The Scottish Hill Race Championship can go only to an athlete registered with the S.G.A. All competitors in both Hill Races enter at their own risk. All competitors to register in Secretaries hut prior to race start.
